The ENGAGE Gateway extends real‑time, networked access control to ENGAGE‑enabled wireless devices, including LE wireless locks. LE locks combine the credential reader, door position sensor, REX switch, and lock hardware into a single unit, requiring only minor modifications to existing mortise preparations and no wiring to the door. With built‑in Bluetooth for local setup and Wi‑Fi for direct network connectivity, LE locks can receive automated configuration updates and support user management, audits, and alerts through the ENGAGE cloud‑based web and mobile applications.
For advanced real‑time control, the ENGAGE Gateway enables frequent, secure communication between the access control host and linked ENGAGE wireless devices. Commands such as lock, unlock, and lockdown execute in under 5 seconds while maintaining battery life of up to 2 years on connected devices. Designed for security from the ground up, ENGAGE technology uses AES‑256 and TLS encryption to protect communication and device integrity.
The Gateway offers installation flexibility by leveraging existing IP or RS‑485 infrastructure. Ethernet connectivity enables direct network integration and supports PoE powering, while RS‑485 operation allows the Gateway to be powered from an access control panel or the included 12 VDC supply. This makes it easy to extend access control to additional openings without complex rewiring and enables seamless operation across a wide range of building environments.
