Nasstar is a leading global cloud services specialist, renowned for designing, implementing, and managing multi-cloud solutions, innovative communication tools, and high-performance networking. On a site located in Bristol, UK, Nasstar required an integrated physical security system.
Solutions implemented: 3xLOGIC cameras, NVRs, and cloud recording were integrated with the PACOM platform.
Traditionally, an organisation with a light physical footprint, Nasstar excelled in transforming businesses through software-defined and intelligent infrastructure without significant physical security measures. However, this dynamic shifted dramatically in 2021 when Nasstar acquired KCOM’s national ICT business, inheriting 90 physical sites across the UK overnight.
This meant that Nasstar suddenly faced the challenge of securing numerous buildings and the infrastructure within them — something that had never been part of their core operations. The company lacked an established facilities team, access management personnel, or security experts, leaving them in urgent need of a robust, integrated security solution to protect their newly acquired assets.
To enhance security across its expanding sites, Nasstar partnered with PACOM, which offered an integrated platform combining video surveillance, access control, and alarm management. This streamlined system was ideal for managing multiple, often unmanned locations.
Starting with one site, Nasstar installed several 3xLOGIC cameras at key points—entrances, exits, lobbies, and car parks—to ensure full coverage of high-risk areas. The upgraded surveillance enabled remote monitoring, real-time identity verification, and access management from the control room.
Managing security across KCOM’s 90 geographically dispersed and often unmanned sites was a major challenge for Nasstar, especially with no prior experience or dedicated facilities or security teams. They needed an intuitive system that could be quickly adopted with minimal training.
The existing legacy systems — analogue CCTV and local DVRs — were outdated, unreliable, and lacked the capabilities needed for effective site security. With many locations unmanned, remote access control, surveillance, and alarm management were essential.
PACOM’s integrated platform and 3xLOGIC cameras enabled Nasstar to quickly adopt a modern, scalable security system. Despite limited in-house expertise, the intuitive setup allowed immediate use. Remote monitoring now ensures secure access and rapid incident response, while the system’s flexibility supports future growth.

The 3xLOGIC VX-5M-B-RIAW bullet camera is installed in the front car park, rear entrance and the rear side of the building. The 5-megapixel IP camera offers dual-streaming high-definition video at a full 2592 x1944 pixels, delivering clear and detailed images to the Nasstar control room. The camera comes with motion detection, low-light day and night functionality, and two-way audio, and is compatible with a wide variety of standardised network protocols
Meanwhile, the VX-5M28-MD-IAW mini-dome camera, located at the site’s lobby entrance, features 120dB WDR, Audio I/O, Alarm I/O, and built-in IR. This makes the VX-5M4-MD-IAW a versatile camera for Nasstar’s needs. It also supports dual streaming with VIGIL Server’s Sub-stream Motion Detection and Rapid Stream technologies, allowing for remote viewing of video footage in both live and playback modes.
These cameras are complemented by the VX-5M20-B-RIAW outdoor bullet camera with remote focus, which is installed at the front of the building. This camera provides dual-streaming high definition video at a full 2592X1944 pixels with infrared for low lighting conditions.
