InterACT Camera Tutorial: How to Configure Zones, LEDs, Siren & 3rd-Party NVR Actions

This guide shows you how to discover your InterACT camera on the network, log in to the web interface, enable analytics (VCA), create detection zones, and trigger relays to third-party recorders — plus how to use multi-color LEDs and audio prompts for on-camera deterrence.

1. Discover and Address the Camera

Download VISIX IP Setup Utility, scan for devices, and set IP/subnet/gateway/DNS. Enter the camera’s username/password and save. This ensures the camera is reachable on your network.

2. Log into the Web Interface

Open Web Settings from VISIX (or type the IP in your browser) and sign in. The outdoor box and outdoor turret share the same UI, so the steps are identical. Aim the camera, run autofocus/zoom, and set speaker volume before creating analytics.

3. Enable VCA and Choose a Tracker

Go to VCA and turn analytics On. Select the tracker engine that fits your use case — intrusion, counting, vehicles/people — so the model classifies the right objects.

4. Create Rules & Presence Polygons

Add a rule and draw a presence polygon where you want detection (e.g., restricted lane, dock, gate). Resize and add nodes; create multiple zones if needed. You can run analytics 24/7 or apply schedules for after-hours only.

5. Integrate with Third-Party NVRs

Set the action to trigger a digital output relay and wire it to your third-party DVR/NVR. When a person/vehicle enters the zone, the relay fires and your recorder logs the event.

6. Add On-Camera Deterrence

Use multi-color LEDs (solid, strobe, or oscillating red/blue) and audio prompts to intervene in real time. Create messages with text-to-speech or upload WAV files; control volume and repetition/delay per rule. Test playback via web or on-camera speakers.

7. Save as You Go

Each time you add or enable a zone/rule, hit Save so it’s written to the camera. The machine-learning model handles classification automatically — no extra training required.
